During the feudal period, there were markets all over Morioka Castle. Much of it has been lost to the times, but Morioka still has a market of simple humanity. Ihatov Avenue, lined with monuments to Kenji Miyazawa, is 400 meters long. The streets are lined with shops, and the streets are filled with shoppers.
