Morioka, surrounded by beautiful and rich nature, is home to many folk performing arts that have been passed down as a way for people to pray in their harsh lives. The Morioka Folk Performing Arts Festival is a rare opportunity to see a variety of traditional dances in Morioka City, including kagura, rice planting dance, lion dance, sword dance, and traditional Sansa dance from each region.
