Established in 1923, this is a ``famous wanko soba'' restaurant. For Wanko Soba, the waitstaff serves you one bowl at a time and stacks the bowls in front of you. If you reach 100 cups, you will be certified as a ``Yokozuna.'' (A certificate and souvenir were given to him, as well as a commemorative notebook.) Kenji Miyazawa was also a patron of this restaurant, and it is said that he liked to order ``tempura soba and cider.''

Wildcat House Yamanekoken

The restaurant is based on Kenji's fairy tale ``The Restaurant with Many Orders,'' and you can enjoy a variety of different flavors of rice cakes prepared by local mothers. You can also try other local dishes such as ``hitsumi'' and ``suiton with mixed grains.'' We also sell souvenirs such as Kenji goods. You can also try Wanko Soba at Ginga Plaza Yamanekoken, which is directly across from Shin-Hanamaki Station. (Reservation required)

This restaurant is proud of Iwate's local cuisine, ``Rokukoku Hitsumi.'' The store is located close to National Route 4, and there is also a parking space for large buses. We also have private rooms where you can relax and enjoy meals and conversation with your family or friends. The menu is extensive and all dishes are our signature dishes.
