We have a wide selection of specialty products from all over the prefecture, including Morioka, including crafts such as Nanbu ironware, famous sweets, and local sake. There will also be a farm-fresh corner selling fresh vegetables from around the prefecture, as well as local specialty product fairs and other events.

Morioka senbei shop founded in 1933. In addition to sesame and peanut, we sell about 20 types of rice crackers, including soy sauce and matcha. You can try your hand at baking at the Morioka Handicraft Village workshop. (100 yen per time)

Yoshikuni Footwear Store (Nanbu Kiri Geta)

Paulownia is the prefecture's flower, and Iwate Prefecture is known as one of Japan's leading producers of paulownia. It has long been called the "purple paulownia of the south" and is loved for its beautiful, slightly purplish skin. You can feel the culture of Morioka through the Nanbu paulownia geta, which is made by the only geta craftsman in Morioka and has fine grain and is light and comfortable to the touch.

During the feudal period, there were markets all over Morioka Castle. Much of it has been lost to the times, but Morioka still has a market of simple humanity. Ihatov Avenue, lined with monuments to Kenji Miyazawa, is 400 meters long. The streets are lined with shops, and the streets are filled with shoppers. In addition to selling fresh vegetables, fruits, and pickles at bargain prices, you can also enjoy local sake and beer while walking.
