A ``squid bottle'' is made by shaping the body of a true squid into a sake bottle and drying it in the sun. When you pour in the sake, the flavor of the squid blends into the sake and it's exquisite! It is also popular as a souvenir item.

Farm Direct Plaza Fureai Park Yamada

*The previously operating roadside station "Yamada" was relocated and opened near the Yamada IC, and is now operating under a new name, "Fureai Park Yamada". It is located along Route 45, which runs through Yamada Town from north to south. It sells specialty products such as Yamada senbei (rice crackers), and in season offers a wide variety of mountain and sea foods such as matsutake mushrooms, salmon, and scallops. It also provides information on events and sightseeing, and is close to leisure facilities such as Funakoshi Family Travel Village. Sanriku Iso Ramen" and "Yamada Oyster Ramen" are popular in the cafeteria.

Sanriku Yamada Oyster Hut

Usually from November to June, Sanriku Yamada Oyster House offers steamed and grilled oysters with a 40-minute time limit. (Including 10 minutes of steaming time) Outside of the oyster season, Sanriku and Yamada seafood are available.
