Oshu City Fire Memorial Museum

A memorial hall that exhibits the history of Mizusawa City's fire department, Gohei Sasaki, and the history of fire departments. The museum is filled with exhibits that tell the story of history, such as firefighting equipment, Hanten and Matet, and the automobile pump ``Benz'' that was active in the early Showa era. It is located on the grounds of Hidaka Shrine, which is associated with the Hidaka Fire Prevention Festival, which was held to pray for fire prevention.

Saito Makoto Memorial Museum

Memorial hall for Saito Minoru (1858-1936), who was killed by a bullet during the February 26 Incident. A memorial hall built on the site of Saito Minoru's former residence. The old house has also been preserved and a glimpse of what life was like back then is open to the public. Inside the museum, medals and formal accessories showing the accomplishments of Minoru are on display. In particular, a cracked mirror that was hit by a bullet during the February 26 Incident vividly tells the story of the turbulent times.

Kazuo Kikuta Memorial Hall/Festival Tradition Hall (Esashi City Tangible Cultural Property)

The two red brick storehouses used as memorial halls were built by Zenjiro Ohara in the late Meiji period. Tozo was used as the Kazuo Kikuta Memorial Hall, and when Kikuta and his family evacuated to Esashi, the view from the inn was the red roof of the Meiji Kinen Hall (then Iwayado Town Hall) with its pointed hat. We are exhibiting materials from his life and works, with a focus on materials from ``The Hill Where the Bell Rings''. As a ``Festival Tradition Museum,'' Saizo exhibits materials on festivals and local performing arts passed down throughout the city, centering on the ``Esashi Jinku Festival'' and ``Summer Festival.''
