Egne Kizuma

Egne is a mansion forest that is indispensable in snowy regions. The trees planted on the north and west sides of the mansion play a major role in protecting against wind and snow. Kizuma is a type of fence made by stacking firewood, and it is said that in the past people competed for richness based on the amount and length of firewood. Both can be said to symbolize Isawa, a region with a lot of snow, which prospered mainly through rice cultivation. Access: After getting off at Mizusawa Station on the JR Tohoku Main Line, take a bus on the Iwate Prefecture Kotsu Maru Line or Hirooka Line and view from inside the bus.

Yumenohashi

A bridge that connects Mukoyama Park, a famous spot for cherry blossoms, and Tateyama Historical Park, which is associated with the Oshu Fujiwara clan. From the top of the bridge, you can see the Taneyama Plateau to the east, the city area to the west, and the mountains of the Yakeishi Mountain Range below.

Tateyama Historical Park (Iwayado Castle Honmaru Ruins)

The castle ruins of a powerful family that ruled this region since ancient times. It is said that Fujiwara Tsunekiyo and his son Kiyohira used it as a fortress in the late Heian period. In addition, an octagonal hall building, Nisei-in (Buddha statue preservation), was built as a facility to honor the achievements of the father and son Tsunekiyo and Kiyohira. You can enjoy the seasonal scenery with cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, and maple trees. Nisei-in is usually closed. Open twice a year (May and August).
