Ozora Falls

A waterfall 83m high and 6m wide located halfway up the Ou Mountains. It is said that when viewed from directly below, it looks like it is falling from the sky, hence the name. The surrounding area is surrounded by a virgin beech forest and the scenery is splendid. To Ozora Falls, get off at Hanamaki Station on the JR Tohoku Main Line, then drive 60 minutes to the Prefectural Outdoor Activities Center, then walk 90 minutes.From Tohoku Expressway Hanamaki Minami IC, get to the Prefectural Outdoor Activities Center 50 minutes, then walk 90 minutes.

Peony garden in Hanamaki City

A peony garden located on the south side of the Kenji Miyazawa Ihatov Museum, which has research materials related to Kenji Miyazawa. It was developed by Hanamaki City on the occasion of the Sanriku Sea Exposition held in 1992, and about 700 peonies of 60 different species bloom in a variety of colors every year. In addition, ``Poran Square'', which connects Ihatov Hall and Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Museum, is a walking path with a south slope flower bed and a sundial flower bed designed by Kenji. Ishidoriya History and Folklore Museum

It houses sake brewing tools that tell the story of the history of sake brewing in the south, and introduces the sake brewing process. 1,788 of the sake brewing tools have been designated as important cultural properties of the country. Also on display are Jomon pottery excavated from within the town, clay bear figurines that are rare in Japan, ancient documents such as umbrella-shaped complaints, and personal accessories that reflect that era. We also exhibit sake vessels from Japan and around the world.
