This is the castle ruins of the lord of Maezawa Castle, and the row of approximately 200 cherry trees that are over 60 years old has become a famous spot representing the southern part of the prefecture. Additionally, there are many large trees along the 800m stretch of road that climbs from the bottom of the park to the entrance, making it feel like a tunnel of cherry blossoms. From mid-April to early May, the park will be illuminated with 250 paper lanterns and lighting.

Fureai no Oka Park

Located in Haneda-cho, the eastern part of Mizusawa Ward, Oshu City, the park offers a wide range of sports activities centering on the Mizusawa Gymnasium, as well as nature walks and other activities. The park golf course is located on a small hillside, and there are artificial sledding slopes, a barbecue corner, and playground equipment for year-round family fun in the great outdoors. From Mizusawa Esashi Station, transfer at the "Iwate Kotsu Haneda Ofunato Line Mizusawa Station Dori Bus Stop" to the Fureai no Oka Park bus stop.

Mizusawa Park

The landscaping of Mizusawa Park is said to have been created in 1878 by Minomushi Yamato, a wandering painter and landscape architect. Today, Mizusawa Park is home to more than 500 cherry trees in full bloom, including a cluster of 300-year-old higan cherry trees that have been designated a natural monument by the prefecture. There is also a bronze statue of Minoru Saito in the park. The park is a popular place for citizens to relax throughout the four seasons.

Miwamori Park

Located west of Mizusawa, Green Hill Miibumori is like a nature park with athletic courses and nature trails utilizing the gentle hilly terrain. It can be enjoyed throughout the four seasons, with cherry blossoms in the spring and autumn leaves in the fall. There is also an outdoor stage, a campground, and an all-weather swimming pool that can be used for various purposes. From the observatory, a panoramic view of Mizusawa City can be seen. From Mizusawa Esashi Station, transfer at the "Iwate Kotsu Haneda Ofunato Line Mizusawa Ekidori Bus Stop" to the Miibunmori Bus Stop.
