Suga Shusai Spirit Tower

Fukujuzan Anrakuji Temple (Matsumori, Iwashimizu, Senmaya Town) was founded over 1,070 years ago by Shusai Suga, the fourth son of Michizane Sugawara, the Minister of the Right, to enshrine the spirit of his father.In the back mountain, there is a statue of Sugawara, the god of learning. The spirit pagodas of Michizane and Michizane's fourth son Shusai Suga are standing side by side. In the memorial tablet hall at the back of the main hall, there is enshrined a memorial tablet of Shusai Suga with the name ``Fukujuinden Yasmine Shoraku Daikoji'' engraved on it. This is the spirit tower of Michizane Sugawara, the god of learning, and Shusai Suga, Michizane's fourth son, where parents and children who died far apart in Fukuoka and Iwate prefectures are lined up in the land of Senmaya.

Shounji Temple

This is the family temple of the Tamura family, which was moved from Iwanuma to Ichinoseki in the 2nd year of the Tenna era. There is also a Tamura Memorial Hall exhibiting materials related to the Tamura family. There is a collection of Buddhist scriptures, a mausoleum for Hoshoin, the mother of Date Hyōbu Munekatsu, and in a quiet area, there are graves of generations of the Tamura family. There are also monuments in the precincts commemorating Wasan master Yushichi Tanehide Chiba and Western medicine scholar Seian Takebe.
