Kuzumaki Forest Park

Kuzumaki Kogen Farm

You can experience working on a farm, such as taking care of calves and sheep. The farm also has a ``Milk House'' where you can try your hand at making ice cream, as well as lodging facilities ``Plateau'' and ``Cottage.'' The adjacent Kuzumaki-cho Forest Park is a park at 40 degrees north latitude surrounded by white birch trees, and also has a campground. In July, there is a lavender garden viewing event where you can even pick lavender.

Hiraniwa Kogen

Located 800 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mt. Hiranwa, which straddles Kuzumaki Town and Kuji City, the vast Hiranwa Kogen is a scenic area designated as a prefectural natural park. It is a plateau where you can enjoy nature to the fullest all year round, starting with wetland plants such as the messenger of spring, the Japanese katakuri, to the dazzling green white birch forest in early summer, azaleas blooming all over the plateau, autumn leaves, and skiing in winter.

Mabuchi River source/Sodeyama Plateau

The festival is held as part of a river protection campaign to protect and nurture clear streams and to express gratitude for the blessings of Mabuchi River, the second largest river in the prefecture, which originates from Sodeyama Plateau in Kuzumaki Town and flows all the way to Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture. Events include a prayer festival to prevent water accidents, open-air play, and Mabuchigawa Genryu Taiko drum performances.
