    Edohigan, with Mt. Iwate in the background, spreading its branches in a leisurely manner. The age of the trees is unknown, but they were planted about 100 years ago when the land was used for pastureland, as shade trees to protect cattle, which do not like the heat, from the strong summer sun.　The tree was used as a location for the movie "Mibugishiden" and the TV serial "Dondohare," and has become a popular topic of conversation for its beautiful scenery.     Yokokoshi skunk cabbage colony

    A colony of skunk cabbage in a wetland near the foot of Mt. Komagatake. A wooden path has been maintained by the people of the Yokokitsu area, allowing you to enjoy skunk cabbage up close. The best time to see them is usually in early May.

    Kobo cherry blossoms in Nanatsuda

    The Kobo cherry tree, which is designated as a natural monument in Shizukuishi Town, is an Edohigan cherry tree that is approximately 800 years old. It is said that when Kobo Daishi visited this area a long time ago, he used a cherry blossom branch as a walking stick and it took root, and it blooms beautifully around Golden Week every year.

    Koiwai Farm Makibaen

    One of the largest private integrated farms in Japan, popular as a spot connected to Kenji Miyazawa. At the tourist area "Makiba-en" located in the center of the farm, you can enjoy various attractions and gourmet food, as well as guided tours of production sites that are closed to the public. In February 2017, 21 buildings on the farm were designated as nationally designated important cultural properties.
