    It flows east-west through the center of the city. The upper and lower bridges have imitation jewels attached to them, giving the bridge a calming appearance. From autumn to early winter, salmon can be seen migrating upstream.

    Seiyoin

    This is the temple where Kenji Miyazawa stayed as a boarding house during his time at Morioka Junior High School when he was ordered to leave the dormitory during the New Building Supervision and Elimination Movement.
