This is the temple where Kenji Miyazawa stayed as a boarding house during his time at Morioka Junior High School when he was ordered to leave the dormitory during the New Building Supervision and Elimination Movement. In addition, there is Mitsuishi Shrine in the back, where the legend of the origin of the name "Iwate" remains.

Rock Ironware Museum

Since its founding in 1902, Iwachu has continued to preserve and pass on traditional techniques, producing over 1 million pieces of Nambu ironware each year. While preserving tradition, they also strive to create new traditions that meet the needs of the times, and a wide variety of Nanbu ironware products are exported not only domestically but also overseas, mainly to Europe. The Iwachu Ironware Museum is a theme park-style factory where you can see the actual work process, including an exhibition gallery of Nanbu ironware.

Morioka City Protected Garden “Ichinokura House”

"Ichinokura House" was designated as a protected garden in 1971 based on the Morioka City Natural Environment and Historic Environment Conservation Ordinance. This garden and building have a long history, having been built in the late Meiji period by Morioka-born politician Hiroshi Abe (member of the House of Peers and governor of Tokyo). It was later transferred to Mr. Ichinokura and acquired by Morioka City in 1992, and even today it still gives us a glimpse of the past. In addition, the Ichinokura residence, which is located in Abedate, which has deep ties to the Oshu Fujiwara clan, has Chusonji lotus plants divided, and you can enjoy beautiful lotuses from late July to early August.
