Wooden seated statue of Tathagata and wooden standing statue of Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva at Hasedera Temple

    These are Buddhist statues from the Heian period to the Kamakura period, and both statues are made using the one-piece wood technique. Among them, the wooden seated statue of Nyorai is said to be the oldest Buddha statue in the Tohoku region, and both are valuable tangible cultural properties designated by the prefecture.
