Zashiki Warashi

Kindaichi Onsen has a history of more than 300 years and was once a secret hot spring of the Nanbu domain. ``Ryokufuso'' is a ryokan located in the hot spring town and is said to be the home of ``Zashikiwarashi'', one of the oldest ryokan in Kindaichi Onsen. There is a legend that if you stay in this zashiki you will meet the zashiki warashi and those who see it will be promoted in life. Zashikiwarashi is not a ghost, but a divine spirit of a boy with a cute bobbed hair, and in this region it is considered an important guardian deity of the house. Although it is a legend, there are still many people who claim to have seen the Zashiki Warashi.

Tendaiji Temple

In this region, the clear water that gushes from the roots of Katsura has been worshiped as sacred water since ancient times. Katsura Shimizu, located at the entrance to the approach to Tendaiji Temple, is a sacred spring that springs from the roots of a Katsura tree that is said to be 1,000 years old. It has been revered as a source of faith since ancient times, and the Katsura tree is the material for the principal image of the Kannon statue, and Tendaiji is also called the ``Katsura Kiyomizu Kannon.''
