A temple of the Otani sect of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism that was built approximately 900 years ago in the city. It is one of the most famous temples in Tohoku and is a branch temple of Higashi Honganji in Kyoto. The original building was destroyed by fire, and the current one was later rebuilt. Among them, the Sanmon gate is approximately 20 meters high and is made entirely of zelkova, and the Taiko-do hall was built approximately 270 years ago in the style of Momoyama architecture.
