    A vast forest park and a bird-watching forest within it. The natural forest, which is a mix of coniferous and broad-leaved trees, is home to a variety of animals, including the fictive flycatcher, great tit, and squirrel, making it a paradise for creatures. Regular nature observation sessions are held on the third Sunday of every month. Binoculars are available for loan for free, so feel free to participate. Nearby are Iwate Prefectural University, Industrial Culture Center, and Umakko Park Iwate.

    Goryu no Fuji

    Wisteria in the precincts of Kakukake Shrine. It is rare in the prefecture to have five large trees that are approximately 200 to 300 years old growing in their natural state. Its appearance is reminiscent of five dragons soaring into the sky, hence the name Five Dragon Fuji.

    Kenji Miyazawa’s poetry monument (Kurakake no Yuki)

    Mt. Kurakake, the mountain that Kenji Miyazawa loved. The landscape, which changes its appearance with the seasons, is so beautiful that it is said to be the driving force behind Kenji's work. The monument with the poem ``Kurakake no Yuki'' stands next to the parking lot of the Takizawa Nature Information Center.

    Morioka Truck Station Yamaboshi

    This is a truck station along National Route 4. A wide variety of set meals are available, and the salty-based ramen, which is made with Takizawa-grown char and deep-fried tatsuta, is popular.
