As you follow Kurasawa from Matsusa to Mt. Omori, a large waterfall suddenly appears. It has a drop of nearly 10 meters and is divided into three stages, creating a splash of water. Kariyagawa

A major tributary of the Hei River, which originates in Wainai, Miyako City and flows along National Route 340, with a length of approximately 25 km. It joins the Hei River in the Shigeruichi area. There are many wild char and yamame trout, and you can also enjoy sweetfish fishing downstream. Each tributary is a treasure trove of char, and is a paradise for Taikobo. Usukiyama

Usukiyama is a city-owned forest located behind Jodogahama beach and adjacent to the Prefectural Fisheries Science Museum. Overlooking Miyako Port, the flowers of kobushi (Japanese bellflower) bloom in early spring, and katakuris (dogtooth violet) bloom in clusters in mid-April. From late April to mid-May, various types of cherry trees are in full bloom. Since 1994, many varieties of cherry trees have been planted to make the area a national-class cherry blossom viewing spot, and there are now 800 cherry trees of 100 varieties.

Otoge Dam (along National Route 106)

The Kawai district of Miyako City, where one of the most beautiful rivers in Iwate Prefecture flows, is a mecca for mountain stream fishing, and you can enjoy the beautiful expressions of nature in each season. In particular, the autumn leaves around Otoge Dam turn the mountains red and delight the eyes of passing motorists.
