    This artificial lake was formed by the Yuda Dam, a gravity-type arch dam with an embankment height of 89,5 m built on the Waga River. The lake is a year-round natural point of interest, with snowmelt flowing in, abundant water, spring tinted with fresh greenery, and the beauty of the autumn leaves along the lakeside.

    Along Route 107, named "Shiki Line," maple trees and other foliage are wonderfully colored, and the autumn foliage near Lake Kinshu Otaki (sand storage dam) and near Makibuchi on the Waga River are also magnificent.

    Floating island in Yukawa-numa (prefecture-designated natural monument)

    About 3km from the inner hot springs of Yukawa Onsen is the bluish Yukawa Marsh. It was designated as a prefectural natural monument as the ``Floating Island of Yukawa Marsh'' (March 8, 1966). The appearance of dozens of large and small floating islands, each about 1 meter wide, floating on the water's surface, created by the wind, is a fascinating sight.

    Wagadake

    At an altitude of 1,440 meters, Mt. Wagadake retains valuable natural beauty such as primeval beech forests and clumps of alpine plants. Because the mountain is steep, there are few climbers, so it is full of freshness. The view is good, and on a clear day you can see the mountain range far into the distance. Just looking at the crystal clear water flowing from the headwaters of the Waga River will soothe your soul.
