Lake Iwado is said to be the most beautiful artificial lake in Japan. The total length of the surrounding area is approximately 40km. It is surrounded by a white birch forest and has a mysterious appearance. The best time to see autumn leaves is mid-October. Fishing, especially ice smelt fishing in winter, is famous.
