Shosuke Sato

Born in Hanamaki City, he was one of Japan's first doctorates in agriculture. The first president of Hokkaido Imperial University (later Hokkaido University). He entered Sapporo Agricultural College (currently Hokkaido University) in 1891 as one of the first students and studied under Dr. Clark. After graduating, he moved to the United States and studied agricultural technology and agricultural policy. After returning to Japan, he continued to contribute to the promotion of agricultural education.
