Cherry blossom corridor (lined with cherry blossom trees along National Route 397)

National Route 397 is lined with cherry blossom trees for approximately 7km, and is known both inside and outside the city as the ``Cherry Blossom Corridor.'' The ``Mizunosato Sakura Festival'' is held during the blooming period in April every year, and part of the row of cherry blossom trees is illuminated, attracting many tourists. Meigosawa old tiles excavated ruins

Many tiles from the early Heian period, the same as those at Izawa Castle, have been unearthed, and it has been designated as a historic site by Iwate Prefecture. It is also said to be the ruins of the ancient mythical castle, Kakubetsu Castle.

Tamasaki Shrine

There is a legend about Yoshitsune's journey northward, which says that Minamoto no Yoshitsune actually escaped without dying in Hiraizumi, and visited this shrine to pray for good luck and safety on his journey, and items related to Yoshitsune are preserved. Reservations are required for the treasure hall.
