Tenshoji Rest House

The Tenshochi Rest House is designed in the image of a rice storehouse from the era of boat transport, overlooking the confluence of the Kitakami and Waga rivers. Since our founding, we have been making ``Tenshojimochi'' every morning with a mortar, appreciating the variety of ingredients from the Kitakami region and valuing the wisdom of our ancestors called Shindo Fuji. The store sells products mainly from within the prefecture, souvenirs, and a restaurant.

Irihata Dam

A multipurpose dam built on the Natsuaburawa River in 1990. Embankment height is 80m, embankment head length is 233m. An observation deck plaza (430m above sea level) was built around the dam lake, and it was named "Onigake Daira" through a public contest. There is a monument with a poem by Kenji Miyazawa, and it is lit up every Saturday night from July to August. The surface of the lake changes its appearance with the seasons, but it is especially beautiful during the seasons of fresh greenery (May to June) and autumn leaves (around mid-October). Best time to see autumn leaves: Mid-October to early November

Wagagawa Green Park

An outdoor and sports plaza located along the Waga River in Kitakami City. There are tennis courts, a natural grass field, and a cycling path, making it a place for residents to relax. There is also a barbecue area on the large grounds, which can also be used as a day camp. The tennis court was also used as the main venue for the 1999 Inter-High School.
