Roadside station “Hayachine”

British coast (Kitakami River)

It is located near the confluence of the Kitakami River and Segawa River, and tuffaceous mudstone is exposed along the river. Currently, they are not often seen, but they can sometimes be seen during the dry season. Kenji Miyazawa named it the ``English Coast'' because he said, ``It feels like I'm walking on the chalk coast of England.''

Sasanaga Brewery

A long-established brewery located in Towa-cho, Hanamaki City. Inheriting the wisdom and skills developed by our predecessors in a place overlooking Mt. Hayachine, one of Japan's 100 famous mountains, Since our founding in 1902, we have been manufacturing with the motto of "Quality First."

Mishōji Temple

A temple where Kenji Miyazawa's grave is located. The main hall is located near Gindoro Park and is located at the top of a narrow stone staircase. Kenji's funeral was held at Anjo-ji Temple (Otani sect of Jodo Shinshu sect), but it is said that he was later reinterred at Mishō-ji Temple. The tombstone is located at the back of the main hall, and it is said that fresh flowers will never run out. In spring, the weeping cherry blossoms on the grounds are spectacular.
