Tokutan Castle Ruins

An ancient castle fence built by the conquering shogun Bunshiro Watamaro in the early Heian period (around 813). Divided by a rectangular outer wall approximately 350m on each side, it was built for the purpose of pacifying Ezo and controlling the Shiba region, and is a nationally designated historic site. It has been developed as a historical park, and you can see artifacts excavated from the Tokutan Castle ruins at the folklore museum inside the park.

Row of cherry blossom trees in the former Enyama Nursery

The row of weeping cherry trees and cherry blossom trees (approximately 100 trees) at the entrance of the former Enyama Nursery in Yahaba Town is a sight to behold in a peaceful rural landscape.

This campsite is located in the western part of Yahaba Town, with easy access to Mt. Nanchō and Mt. Jonai, mountain climbing, Enzan Himawari Park, and hot springs. It is available for both overnight stays and day camps. You can also enjoy the autumn leaves.
