　The fruit, which ripens to a light green color in autumn, is high in vitamin C and is said to be effective as a tonic and to stimulate the appetite. The fruit is used to make wine, juice, jam, jelly, and soft serve ice cream. Recently, sarunashi roll cakes have been commercialized, and sarunashi products have also been enhanced. It can be purchased at liquor stores and souvenir stores in Karume-cho.

Grain richness cake

Pound ke0ki is made with butter, flour, sugar, and eggs. To the ingredients of the cake, millet, buckwheat, amaranth, green beans and black beans containing savonin and linoleic acid are added to lock in the power of minor grains for a luxurious finish.

Tartary soba/dried grain noodles

Made at a long-established noodle factory in Karumai town, using traditional natural drying methods. Tartary soba, whose noodles turn yellow when boiled, is even more delicious when eaten chilled with tsukemen. Also popular are products made with grains from Karumai Town, such as ``Amaransasu Udon'' and ``Hime Somen''.

Tartary soba

Tartary soba is said to contain 100 times more rutin, which strengthens capillaries, than Japanese soba. When boiled, it is slightly yellow in color and has a bittersweet flavor.
