The Ichinoseki International Half Marathon, held at the beginning of the fall and winter road seasons, is held in the fourth week of September. Starting and finishing at the Ichinoseki City General Gymnasium, this is an idyllic, flat course that runs through a rural landscape covered in golden ears of rice. Invited athletes from Japan and abroad will also participate. Sydney Olympic silver medalist Eric Wainaina has also won in the past.
