Another place you should definitely visit if you are in Appi is Appi Kogen Farm, which is adjacent to Hotel Appi Grand. They raise and milk about 40 dairy cows, and use the fresh milk to make delicious dairy products such as ice cream, yogurt, and cheese. You can play freely in the square, so it’s a great place to relax with your family. The farm at dusk, when there are few people, also has a nice atmosphere.
In addition, in the winter, it becomes a snow ranch where you can enjoy delicious cheese fondue, Genghis Khan, and snowmobiling inside a kamakura, which is also very popular.
Also, the road from Appi to Higashi-Hachimantai to Yakehashiri Lava Flow is my favorite driving course in this area.
Along the way, the sight of the majestic Mt. Iwate approaching, the spacious meadows reminiscent of Hokkaido, and the mountains of Hachimantai are breathtaking views no matter how many times you pass by.
