Old roadside station “Takada Matsubara” Tapic 45

Tapic 45, a white building with a beautiful pine forest in the background, was an information center for Rikuzentakata City, but it was damaged by the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake. The building has been preserved as an earthquake relic to pass on the horror of the tsunami to future generations.

Shidate Park

Located on a small hill surrounded by peaceful countryside, the view is refreshing. It is crowded with people during the cherry blossom season. In the middle, ``Shishimizu'', a famous water symbolizing Hanaizumi Town, which is a village of springs, gushes out.

Kuzumaki Forest Park

A forest park where you can learn about dairy farming and forestry while experiencing the natural surroundings. There is also a campground with 30 tent sites. Ideal for forest bathing and hiking trails.

Karyusawa Falls Mountain Stream Park

The area around the mountain stream, which stretches for approximately 2km, is decorated with seasonal flowers such as cherry blossoms, azaleas, and wisteria, and you can enjoy a spiritually enriching moment while enjoying the natural scenery such as the majestic Fudo Rock. There are also outdoor facilities such as campgrounds and bungalows.

According to folklore

Objects related to folk tales and fairy tales are installed all along the street from JR Tono Station Square to Municipal Nabekura Park, pleasing the eyes of people walking by. Typical objects include bronze statues of the main characters of Tono Monogatari, such as the kappa, the Yuki-onna, and the Celestial Child, as well as the main characters of fairy tales, such as Momotaro, Thumbelina, and Jack and the Beanstalk.
