The company was founded in 1894 as the Fujimura Sake Brewery. Later, the third generation, Kyuki Fujimura, changed the name of the company to "Kikumori" with the idea that "Kuki will rise to the occasion even if he has to stand on his head," and the current Kikumori Brewery was born.
