Gyozan-ryu Spring Deer Dance (city-designated intangible folk cultural property)

The head with deer antlers and the long sasara carried on the back are impressive, and in Miyagi Prefecture, it is also called the ``Yakka Odori'' because it is performed in groups of eight. There are various traditions regarding its origin and transmission route, and it is divided into Gyozan-ryu, Kanazu-ryu, Kasuga-ryu, etc. The spring water is called the Gyuzan school, which is descended from the Hisada Shika dance in the Esashi area of ​​Oshu city. According to tradition, Shikaodori began in the Shiroishi/Yusui area in 1866. *Performances may be held at any time upon request, such as festivals at nearby shrines such as Komagata Shrine, and performing arts competitions.

After seeing Tase Ohashi Bridge, which is one of the best views of Lake Tase, a multipurpose artificial lake in the middle of the Kitakami Mountains, there is Otase No. 3 Bridge about 200 meters upstream. Byobu Rock towers directly above this, halfway up Mt. Tomori. It is semi-circular with a circumference of approximately 100m and a height of 30m. It is a strange rock that looks like a folding screen opened.

Kuratsubo turnip

A white turnip with long roots that are not round, which is rare among turnip varieties. It looks like a small green-necked radish, about 20 cm long from the pale green part above the ground to the white root in the soil, and about 3 to 4 cm in diameter at the thickest part. Since it is close to the original species as it has not been improved to prevent pests and diseases, it is grown carefully. Although this vegetable is normally harvested in the fall, it is also planted for summer harvest and produced twice a year. Local people have been eating it as a pickle for a long time. It has a unique spiciness that is different from that of chili peppers or wasabi, and grated Kurotsubo turnip is used as a condiment for soba, sashimi, yakiniku, and other dishes.
