Iwate Bank Red Brick Building

It opened as Iwate Bank Red Brick Building on Sunday, July 17, 2016. Built to the design of Kingo Tatsuno and Manji Kasai Architects, the former Morioka Bank is built of red brick with a green dome, and its exterior has a strict Renaissance-style outline. Located in the center of the city, it combines with the Nakatsu River and Nakano Bridge to form Morioka's representative landscape. A nationally designated important cultural property built in 1909.

Beniko Fukazawa Wildflower Museum

A warehouse-style building along the Nakatsugawa River, downstream of the upper bridge. Oil paintings and watercolor paintings of wildflowers by Beniko Fukazawa, a painter from Morioka City, are on display, changing with the seasons.

Iwate Prefectural Museum of Art

The Iwate Prefectural Museum of Art, which opened in October 2001, is located in Morioka City Central Park, a new cultural zone, on the west side of Morioka Station. We collect and display works by local artists, including Tetsugoro Mantetsu, Shunsuke Matsumoto, and Yasutake Funakoshi, and also hold special exhibitions on a variety of domestic and international themes. At the same time, we hold various events such as lectures, workshops, and concerts to help people become familiar with art, and aim to become a new cultural facility in Iwate for the 21st century.
