An old shrine with a long history, located in a forest of old trees. The shrine is dedicated to Ukanokotami-no-mikoto, and as one of the leading shrines in Sanriku, it is visited by many worshippers from far and wide. The shrine is especially crowded with worshippers during the annual festival in May.
