The mountain worship that regards Hayachine Shrine as a sacred mountain has given rise to many schools of Yamabushi Kagura since the Kamakura period, and is now collectively known as Hayachine Kagura. Along with the Tsuchizawa Kagura of the Daikan-ryu, it has been designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property by Iwate Prefecture, and its ancient beliefs have been passed down to the present day in their original form, and the mystical music and dance transcend time and touch the hearts of viewers.
