Man Tetsugoro

A Western painter from Towa-cho, Hanamaki City. Graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He was one of the first to resonate with Fauvism and Cubism paintings in Japan, and was active from the late Meiji period to the Taisho period to the early Showa period, publishing completed works such as ``Nude Beauty'' and ``Leaning Man,'' and was a pioneer of modern Japanese painting. It is called. As an avant-garde artist, he continued to pursue unique paintings throughout his life. His works have been highly evaluated overseas as well.

British coast (Kitakami River)

It is located near the confluence of the Kitakami River and Segawa River, and tuffaceous mudstone is exposed along the river. Currently, they are not often seen, but they can sometimes be seen during the dry season. Kenji Miyazawa named it the ``English Coast'' because he said, ``It feels like I'm walking on the chalk coast of England.''
