Irihata Dam

A multipurpose dam built on the Natsuaburawa River in 1990. Embankment height is 80m, embankment head length is 233m. An observation deck plaza (430m above sea level) was built around the dam lake, and it was named "Onigake Daira" through a public contest. There is a monument with a poem by Kenji Miyazawa, and it is lit up every Saturday night from July to August. The surface of the lake changes its appearance with the seasons, but it is especially beautiful during the seasons of fresh greenery (May to June) and autumn leaves (around mid-October). Semi Onsen

It has four hot springs, including ``Yume-no-Yu'' and ``Semi-no-Yu'', and ``Bijin no Yu'' is especially popular among women because it leaves their skin smooth after bathing. Irihata Dam is lit up from July to August, and the view from the open-air bath will transport you to a fantastical world. Focusing on fresh eel and river fish dishes, you can enjoy wild vegetable dishes in spring and mushroom dishes in autumn.

Japanese Contemporary Poetry and Literature Museum

The Japan Museum of Contemporary Poetry and Literature aims to comprehensively collect, permanently preserve, and research Japanese poetry materials such as modern poetry, tanka, haiku, and senryu on a nationwide scale, as well as hold exhibitions and promote poetry literature. This is the only general literature museum in Japan specializing in poetry. Located in Kitakami City, which is surrounded by the flow of the Kitakami River, green nature, and a poetic climate, it is located in the Poetry Forest Park that colors the city.
