Kabuto Myojindake

As you head east from Morioka on National Route 106, you can see a particularly high rocky peak above the Kukai Plateau called Kabuto Myojindake (1,005m above sea level). It takes about 1 hour and is an easy hike. A popular loop course is the one that climbs straight up the northern ridge from the Kukai Kogen Walking Center. If you follow the single road surrounded by larch and birch trees, you will reach the junction with Mt. Miharuyama. After passing through a meadow, a mountain hut surrounded by trees, and a natural grass field, you will reach the top of a sharp rock. The Ou Mountains, including Mt. Iwate, spread out below.

Tottori Haruyo Birthplace

The birthplace of Haruyo Tottori (real name Kanichi), an enka performer and composer from the Taisho and early Showa eras, who was born in Kariya, the former Shinsato village in 1899, and died at the young age of 31, still exists. Haruyo Tottori moved to Tokyo at the age of 14 and began composing music at the age of 17, and his ``Caged Bird'', which he composed in 1923, became an unprecedented hit. She became Japan's first singer exclusively for a record company.

Namiuchizaki

Namiuchi is a dynamic rocky reef where the rough waves of the Pacific Ocean wash over you with spray. This reef is the end of the Sannoiwa Promenade, and the upper part is almost flat. When you look down at the ocean from atop an unfenced reef, the sound of the rough waves that resonates deep in your chest makes you feel once again the majesty of nature.
