Takato Oshima

This is an Indo-Sri Lankan Western-style pagoda that enshrines the ashes of Buddha, a gift from the Kelaniya Vihara in the Republic of Sri Lanka. Inside, there is a pagoda containing Buddha's relics and a hall dedicated to the founders of each sect of Buddhism.

Yakushi Park

This park is located on a hill in the city center, offering a panoramic view of the city and Kamaishi Bay. Inside the park, there is a statue of a woman erected to comfort the spirits of war victims and pray for peace, as well as a monument commemorating Yosuke Takahashi, who devoted himself to the development of the Kamaishi Steel Works. Approximately 200 cherry trees are in full bloom in spring.

As a base for conveying the culture and climate of Kamaishi City, we have set the themes of ``Nature,'' ``Archaeology,'' ``Historical Sites,'' ``Folklore,'' ``Kamaishi of the Showa Era,'' and ``Tsunami/War Damages,'' and donated items from citizens. We are displaying the materials that were created.
