Takato Oshima

Nakamura Hankando

It is a historical site related to the legend of Yoshitsune's northward journey, and it is said that the master and servant of Yoshitsune, who escaped from Hiraizumi, stayed at the Hachiman family in Nakamura on the way and left behind fans and other items as a token of gratitude. After that, the ancestors of the same family built a shrine and began to enshrine Yoshitsune.

Sennin Pass

This is a deep green mountain pass on National Route 283, on the border with Tono City. A monument to Kenji Miyazawa's poetry has been installed in the square at the entrance of Sennin Tunnel Kamaishi. In addition, the famous water ``Sennin Hisui'' is produced here. Yakushi Park

This park is located on a hill in the city center, offering a panoramic view of the city and Kamaishi Bay. Inside the park, there is a statue of a woman erected to comfort the spirits of war victims and pray for peace, as well as a monument commemorating Yosuke Takahashi, who devoted himself to the development of the Kamaishi Steel Works. Approximately 200 cherry trees are in full bloom in spring.
