Goronuma

Goronuma, located to the south of the ruins of Hizumekan, which was built by Toshihira Hizume, the grandson of Kiyohira, the first generation of the Fujiwara clan in Hiraizumi, entertains visitors with cherry blossoms in the spring and swans in the winter. In July, the ancient lotus (Chusonji lotus), which was revived from seeds found in Yasuhiro's head bucket at Chusonji, blooms beautifully in the lotus pond next to the parking lot. On the east bank, there is a stone monument called the Night Cry Stone, which is said to have the sound of the cries of a woman who was turned into a human pillar to stop the repeated collapse of the swamp embankment.

Funakubo Cave

This is Yokoana limestone cave, which is designated as a historic site by the prefecture. Inside the cave, there is a hall of about 50 square meters, and there are remains of Jomon period dwellings, including beautiful stalactites, earthenware, and stone tools.

Shiwa Inari Shrine and Shiwa Old Inari Shrine

Shiwa Inari Shrine is visited by many worshipers as it is believed to be the guardian deity of good harvests, big catches, and traffic safety. In the precincts, there is an old cedar tree that is said to be 1,000 years old and is a place of worship. In addition, the neighboring Shiwako Inari Shrine became a hot topic when a mummy fox was discovered in a sacred tree that fell during the Aion Typhoon.
