Fujisawa Noyaki Festival

This is a major summer event held every year on the second Sunday of August and the day before. The sight of flames burning all at once from the kiln is truly moving. When you bake your own creations using the same methods used in the Jomon period, the romance of the Jomon period and the Jomon people come back to life, just as the late Professor Taro Okamoto exclaimed, ``There are many Jomon people here.'' A pottery Koshien for high school students, ``Netsuto Koshien in Fujisawa,'' will also be held at the same time.
