Roadside station “Mitagai Branch”

A roadside station built on the site of the former Mon Elementary School Mitagai Branch along National Route 455 from the Morioka direction. Based on the concept of an old elementary school, it has a ``purchasing department'' (store) and a ``lunch room'' (cafeteria), creating a nostalgic space. Nearby, there are limestone caves such as Ryusendo Cave, one of Japan's three major limestone caves, a nationally designated natural monument, and Yasuya Cave, the longest in Japan with a total length of over 10,000 meters.

Appi Onsen Shirakaba no Yu (day trip bathing facility) [Appi Onsen]

AIPP Onsen Patio opened as "Shirakaba no Yu" on July 22, 2017. The open-air bath, where you can feel the warmth of wood, has an arbor-style roof, and you can see the great nature of the Appi Highlands during the day, and the starry sky at night. It is a relaxing space with a large public bath that can accommodate 200 men and women at a time, and one of the largest saunas in Japan. It is also directly connected to the ANA Holiday Inn Resort Appi Kogen "Onsen Building" (formerly Appi Kogen Onsen Hotel) via a corridor.

Roadside station “Iwaizumi”

The roadside station "Iwaizumi" is located along National Route 455, a 15-minute drive from Rikuchu Coast, and a 10-minute drive from Ryusendo Cave, making it a great location for Sanriku sightseeing spots. There is also a wide variety of local souvenirs on display, including Matsutake mushrooms from Iwaizumi in the fall.

Located near the Asian Folk Museum, this lodging facility is housed in a Nambu Magare house that conveys the traditional architectural style of the area, allowing you to experience how life used to be. By reservation, you can also enjoy traditional foods such as tofu dengaku and handmade soba noodles. There are 2 guest rooms that can accommodate approximately 14 people. [Access] 15 minutes by taxi from Rikuchu Noda Station. 70 minutes by car from Kunohe IC. From Rikuchu-Noda Station, take the village bus and get off at Higatai bus stop, then walk 5 minutes.

Roadside Station “Kuji” Yamase Dofukan

Yamase Dofukan is divided into two parts: ``Tsuchi no Yakata'', which is a product center, and ``Kaze no Yakata'', which is a tourist exchange center. The local product store ``Tsuchi no Yakata'' sells Kuji Kohaku and locally harvested seasonal vegetables, and there is also a local product store, making it the perfect place to pick up souvenirs. In addition, the tourist exchange center ``Kaze no Yakata'' displays floats and portable shrines that are actually used in the Kuji Autumn Festival. The actual festival is shown on a video monitor, and local materials are also on display to convey the charm of Kuji. There are also restaurants that are popular for their rice bowls topped with plenty of local seafood. In front of you is Retro Plaza, which is lined with restaurants and miscellaneous goods stores.
