Yakushigawa mountain stream

Many yamame trout and char live in the mountain stream, which stretches for about 10km from its confluence with the Oguni River. Approximately 10km up from the confluence, there are Taimagura Campsite, Bungalow Village, and Hayachine Mountain Villa, making it a base camp for fishing fans. Furthermore, 10km further on is the Odakoshi Pass, which is 1,200m above sea level and serves as the starting point for Mt. Hayachine (1,917m above sea level).

Hei River

It is one of the most scenic clear streams in the Kitakami Mountains, with a total length of 75.5 km, originating from Kukai Kogen in the Kawai district of Miyako City and flowing to Miyako City, crossing the JR Yamada Line and National Route 106. It has a tributary, the Kariyagawa River, and attracts anglers with ayu fishing from the opening of mountain stream fishing in March to July. The apples grown in the Niisato area are full of sweet honey and are called ``leafless apples''. This apple is unique to Niisato, where it snows late, and its sugar content is about 3 degrees higher than regular apples.
