Nishidake Fish Farm Fishing Pond

A fishing pond where you can enjoy fishing for char and rainbow trout in the great outdoors. The fish you catch can be grilled over charcoal and eaten on the spot. There is also a children's park nearby, so it's a facility the whole family can enjoy.

Fuji of Fujishima

A huge Nodafuji tree with beautiful branches is located in Kotoridani in the town. The tree is said to be several hundred years old, and in 1932, when it was designated as a natural monument, it had a root circumference of 3.3 meters. It used to get tangled in the branches of a neighboring wig, but that branch has died, so it is now supported by a steel-framed wig. Because it is an old tree, the main trunk has become thinner than before, but new branches have grown, and when the flowering season comes, the smoldering purple flower clusters droop, creating a magical appearance. Bandaikan

It was founded in 1909 as a puppet theater in a converted storehouse, and began screening movies in the Taisho era. The movie boom was at its peak in the 1950s, and the current building was constructed in 1956. It is the only active movie theater in Iwate Prefecture that still retains the vestiges of the good old days of the movie boom. It became a registered tangible cultural property of the country in 2016. The Cassiopeia Film Festival is held every year with special guests.
