Kakitsubata is also the flower of Morioka City.
This colony is located in Taihei, a mountain bank about 4 km northeast of the city, along National Route 455, which connects the city and Iwaizumi.
During the flowering season, refreshing blue-purple flowers bloom all over the 931-square-meter grounds, and they stand out against the yellow-green leaves, making for a spectacular sight.
There is also an arbor and parking space on the premises, making it a relaxing spot for citizens.
It is a prefecture-designated natural monument, and conservation efforts are being actively carried out.

Hakogamori

Lake Gosho into which the Shizukuishi River flows. Hakogamori is a mountain shaped like an upside down box that can be seen to the south of the lake reflecting the surrounding greenery. From the peak of about 866m, you can see Mt. Nanchang, Mt. Hayachine, Mt. Iwate, etc. Approximately 120 minutes from the Inarizawa trailhead and Fujikura trailhead to the summit.

Murata Folk Crafts Studio

A local toy workshop founded in 1963. Cocoon crafts that convey warmth, such as zodiac signs and carp streamers, are popular for their smiley faces and have become one of Iwate's representative local toys.

Workshop Yume Mayu * Flower

Mayu Craft creates seasonal items by beautifully dyeing cocoon balls. There is a panel display of materials related to sericulture in Iwate. In addition to displaying materials about Iwate's sericulture on panels, you can also see prize-winning works from national cocoon craft contests, bouquets, wreaths, hina dolls, and other works that take advantage of cocoon's characteristics. At the trial class, you can easily experience the fun of eyebrow crafting.
