That's what Musashi thought.'' Yoshikawa begins with this passage. The first draft of Eiji's ``Miyamoto Musashi'' was written at Honshoji Temple in 1930. From Morioka Minami on the Tohoku Expressway to your destination via the prefectural road, take National Route 106 to Miyako. 10 minutes by car from Miyako to Honshoji Temple (near Municipal Atago Elementary School).

Shigemo Peninsula Takashi Gasaki

Shigemo Peninsula is a peninsula that juts out to the east of the city. Takagasaki, located about an hour's walk from the Aneyoshi campsite, is located at 142 degrees 4 minutes 21 seconds east longitude and is the easternmost point of Honshu. There is the Torigasaki Lighthouse, which was the setting for the movie ``How Many Years of Joy and Sorrow'' was filmed. It takes about 50 minutes by car from Miyako Station to Aneyoshi Campsite. (You cannot go to Takashi Gasaki by car.)
