Wooden Kannon Bodhisattva Seated Statue

The statue, which is 114.3 centimeters tall and is enshrined at Higashisen-in in Ichinoseki City, is made of coniferous wood and finished with lacquered wood. It shows the sculptural style of the late Heian period, and is thought to have been created by a Buddhist sculptor who was involved in the construction of a temple in Hiraizumi during the third Fujiwara era in Oshu. The carvings are excellent, and the statue is in good condition as an inscribed statue, and it is one of the few in the prefecture that has all three parts: halo, pedestal, and Dharmakaya. In 2018, it was designated as a national important cultural property.

sauce katsudon

This is the signature menu of Kappo Shochiku, a long-established restaurant located in front of JR Ichinoseki Station. It has now become so famous that it is said to be a specialty of Ichinoseki. A bowl of warm white rice with shredded cabbage and loin cutlet soaked in homemade sauce. It has been frequently featured in magazines and other publications, and customers from within and outside the prefecture come to the store looking for ``sauce cutlet bowl.''

Tateyama Park

Tateyama Park, which overlooks Senmaya Town, is located in a place where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city along with the cherry blossoms. There are approximately 100 cherry blossom trees, including Yoshino cherry, weeping cherry, and Yaezakura, which start blooming in sequence, so you can enjoy the cherry blossom viewing season for a long time.
