Tannaiyama Shrine

This is a shrine where Fujiwara Kiyohira is said to have donated Buddhist statues and sacred treasures, and to which he believed deeply. It became the general guardian of the southern territory, and the current shrine building was rebuilt in 1810. The transoms on both sides of the shrine hall, the side shoji screens, and the front lattice doors are decorated with beautiful carvings. It is said that if you can pass through the large stone at the back of the main shrine without hitting the wall, you will receive blessings. This is a mysterious shrine with the ``Seven Wonders.''

Shogyoin

At Shogyo-in Temple, there is a seated statue of Amida Nyorai, a nationally designated important cultural property, with a sitting height of 186.3 cm and a total height of about 1 m from the pedestal to the ring of light, with the Gochi Nyorai enshrined in the ring. It is thought to have been created in the Kamakura period, and was brought to Japan by Sakon Masuda of Higashiyama, Kyoto in the Genroku period (end of the 17th century), along with statues of samurai on both sides, and is said to have been enshrined in Hanamaki after having his eyes opened by Yuten Shonin in Edo.

Nishimikado

In the past, the west gate, which can be called the main gate of Hanamaki Castle's main enclosure, served as a preparation for the main enclosure and as an entrance for the feudal lord and others. Hanamaki Castle was unable to build a castle tower, so old pictures depict the west gate as the castle tower, and the structure is reminiscent of a tower building. The project was started in 1992 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Hanamaki Town, and was completed in 1994.
