Mount Imade, towering over the urban area of ​​Ofunato City, is 756 meters above sea level. The view overlooking Ofunato Bay and the city area, as well as the Pacific Ocean and the Karakuwa Peninsula is spectacular. When the azaleas bloom, the area around the mountaintop is dyed bright red, and when you look up from the national highway, it looks as if the mountain is on fire. Once you reach the top of the mountain, you can take a walk through a large colony of blooming azaleas. Koro persimmon [twig persimmon]

As mid-November passes and the mornings and evenings start to get colder, In Ofunato, the drying process for the specialty product ``koro persimmon'' is at its peak. The colder the weather, the more the persimmon's astringency turns into sweetness, producing delicious dried persimmons. Koro persimmons are rich in dietary fiber and are also a treasure trove of pectin, carotenoids, and vitamin C. The orange ``Tamasudare'' lined up in front of the eaves of farmhouses has become a winter feature.

Cape Goishi

It is located at the southernmost tip of the Goishi Coast, with its tip at 38 degrees 50 minutes north latitude and 141 degrees 44 minutes east longitude. The lighthouse is 10.5m high and transmits light 32km offshore, watching over ships sailing off the coast of Sanriku. You can also see Mt. Kinka in the distance on the horizon.
